A TEENAGER has been "killed in an assault" with two men arrested on suspicion of murder.

Cops and emergency services rushed to the Crookes area of Sheffield yesterday evening after the horror incident.


Police have cordoned off a number of roads as a murder investigation got underway.

Specialist forensic officers were also pictured scouring the area for evidence after the tragic death.

Images showed a number of police cars and two ambulances attending the scene.

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: "A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager died following an assault in Crookes, Sheffield this evening (Thursday May 25).

"There are a high number of uniformed officers in the area carrying out initial inquiries, and a number of road closures and cordons remain in place.

"Two men are in custody after being detained on suspicion of murder."
