NHS nurse, 60, dies from coronavirus as tributes paid to ‘loveable leader’ who spent four decades saving lives – The Sun

AN NHS nurse has died from coronavirus after 40 years in the health service, it has been confirmed.

Tributes have been paid to Patrick McManus, 60, of Stafford County Hospital, describing him as "an exceptional leader".

The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust revealed the tragic news in a statement, calling Patrick "an extremely well-liked and valued member of the nursing team".

Tracy Bullock, UHNM chief executive, said: "Patrick McManus was an extremely well-liked and valued member of the nursing team at County Hospital, Stafford.

"He had been a nurse for more than 40 years and had worked at North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary prior to working in Stafford, where he had been for about 10 years.

"He was a loveable character and brought kindness and compassion to all his patients, which was acknowledged by the number of compliments and thank you messages he received."
