National Lottery player who scooped £1m prize has just days left to claim or lose out as punters urged to check tickets

A LOTTO punter who has won a £1 million jackpot is just days away from losing out – if they don't claim their winnings before next week.

The winning ticket was bought in Poole, Dorset for a January Lotto draw – but big winners in the affluent county seem to be shy coming forward.

The winning ticket matched five balls and the bonus ball – 7, 23, 40, 42, 47, 59 and bonus ball 58 – but the player has not come forward to claim their winnings.

And they only have until Monday 27 July to do so, or lose the cash to the good causes fund.

Earlier this year Dorset – the second richest county in the UK for property wealth – had three jackpot winners who had failed to come forward to claim nearly £44 million in jackpots.

One was a £41 million EuroMillions ticketholder, another won £1.8million on a EuroMillions draw and then this latest £1 million Lotto winner.

Camelot say some winners take their time in claiming prizes – some leave it until the last minute as the six month deadline approaches.

And another £1 million Lotto winner from Bedford has only just claimed their prize, four months after winning the cash in a March draw.
