THE Science Museum, which is being used as a makeshift Covid vaccination centre, was today evacuated after an unattended bag was found.
People queuing for their Covid jab were forced to leave the building in South Kensington, London, following the alert.
People were also queueing outside the museum, which was chosen to be a NHS vaccination centre to help the rollout of the Covid jab.
The museum tweeted: "The museum has been evacuated as a precaution. We will share more updates shortly."
Prince William and Kate Middleton both had their vaccinations at the museum in recent weeks.
The Duchess of Cambridge praised the NHS as she received her first dose of the Covid vaccine nine days after William was jabbed.
Today, several people said they had been turned away from the museum when they tried to get in for an afternoon activity.
One person said: "Security guard told us they found a suspicious bag and didn't know what was in it.. Got everyone out."
And others said they wanted to find out if they could return for their vaccinations.
One said: "Thanks would be helpful to know about whether to come back later for vaccination or if we need to rebook."
