Why is The Masked Dancer not on tonight and when is it back?

If you’re wondering why strange costume characters aren’t dancing across your screens tonight, that’s because The Masked Dancer isn’t on.

The brand new ITV series, a spin-off of The Masked Singer, started on Sunday with judges Oti Mabuse, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan at the helm.

So far, we’ve unmasked Viper as Diversity star Jordan Banjo, Flamingo as Eternal singer Louise Redknapp, Beetroot as Dita Von Teese and, most recently, Rubber Chicken as Eddie the Eagle.

However, you’ll have to wait another night to see who’s eliminated next as The Masked Dancer is taking a break on Wednesday.

Why isn’t The Masked Dancer on tonight?

The Masked Dancer is not airing on Wednesday night simply because the football’s on.

ITV is instead broadcasting England’s friendly with Austria at Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough from 7:30pm-10:15pm, which unfortunately clashes with The Masked Dancer’s nightly slot.

The Masked Dancer on ITV & the ITV Hub continues at 7.30pm on Thursday June 3.
