Llama took to the stage to battle it out against Beetroot in the first episode of The Masked Singer’s sister show, The Masked Dancer. The celebrity contestant gave several clues as to who they were and the panel were in disarray as they threw a number of names into the ring. However, it was the track they performed to that might have given the game away according to viewers of the ITV competition programme as they thought the famous face could have made an appearance in an Austin Powers movie.
The eccentric character performed a routine to the hit song, Quincy Jones’s Soul Bossa Nova, which has become infamous for featuring in the Austin Powers films.
Taking to Twitter, viewers put the pieces of the jigsaw together and remembered Hollywood actress Elizabeth Hurley, 55, featured in the Hollywood movies.
She played the character of Vanessa Kensington in the first instalment of the franchise, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.
One viewer wrote: “Liz Hurley? She was in Austin Powers no? #MaskedDancerUK,” as a second posted: “Llama Elizabeth Hurley #MaskedDancerUK #AustinPowers.”
“I’m going for @ElizabethHurley as Llama #MaskedDancerUK,” a third shared, with a fourth stating: “#MaskedDancerUK Llama Elizabeth Hurley!”
A fifth remarked on the social media platform: “Going with Liz Hurley or Lily Allen for Llama #MaskedDancerUK.”
In Llama’s clue package, they were poised against the backdrop of a stately home and referenced they were a “country girl at heart.”
They also explained they liked to “eat their greens as you are what you eat,” before concluding the package by saying they were “not one for the simple life.”
Will Elizabeth Hurley be unmasked later on in the series after winning the battle against their opponent Beetroot?

There is already some contention as to which celebrities are performing, with Betway bookmakers putting their odds against a list of famous faces.
One big name who could be taking part is former Girls Aloud member and The Greatest Dancer judge, Cheryl, 37, given her dancing experience.
The chances of being a contestant on the show are 6/4 to be the Squirrel, who will be making their debut in the second episode of the season.
Former Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard, 26, has also be linked with the show as bookmakers are convinced he could be the character of the Beagle.
McFly’s Harry Judd, 35, who is a former Strictly champion is also rumoured to be taking part as he is 10/1 to be Viper.
Betway spokesperson Chad Yeomans said: “12 celebrity contestants are set to perform unique dances this Saturday as The Masked Dancer UK makes its debut.
“Covered from head to toe in extravagant, colourful costumes, the nation and judges will be trying to decipher the dancers’ identities.”
By the end of the week, all the masks will be off and the first-ever winner of The Masked Dancer will be crowned.
There are some differences to the dancing format of the world’s biggest game of Guess Who? and judge Jonathan Ross, 60, explained this take on being able to hear the contestants’ voices.
The chat show host said: “It is tough not hearing their voices, but there is a stage in the series where we get to hear one word from them.
“However, even on The Masked Singer people try to disguise their voices. The weird thing is – and maybe even people find this at home – that when you get it in your head that it is someone, you find yourself trying to make that work,” he told Radio Times.
Will the voices give the game away or will it be yet another hurdle for viewers to overcome as they try to guess the celebrity identities?
The Masked Dancer begins tonight at 7pm on ITV.
