Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) has been through hell in Hollyoaks at the hands of not only Breda McQueen (Moya Brady) but also due to dad Edward’s (Joe McGann) meddling, but matters became much worse for the soap stalwart during tonight’s instalment as he collapsed at the dinner table, after evil Edward drugged him.
When Tony discovered that Edward had an affair with Diane (Alex Fletcher) in his absence, he banished his dad from this life, but — determined to win Diane back — Edward replaced his son’s medication with dangerous drugs.
In recent episodes, viewers have seen Tony make the decision to get rid of said drugs, as he was determined to move forward once and for all.
During tonight’s instalment, he prepared to throw a special dinner for sister Verity (Eva O’Hara), but he soon discovered she had a prior engagement with Edward.
As a result, he decided to be the bigger person and therefore invited Edward to the meal, so that he could celebrate his sister’s new business venture.
When Edward showed up, he wasted little time in getting up to his old tricks, as he put drugs in Tony’s drink.
As the evening came to an end, Tony was looking the worse for wear, and before long, he collapsed to the floor and, following a seizure, he became unconscious — leaving all those around him worried, as evil Edward telephoned for an ambulance.
Is Tony dead?
Has Edward killed him in an ultimate act of revenge?
