Spoilers: Devastating twist as Whitney goes missing in EastEnders

Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) has bene through hell over the past couple of months in EastEnders, but she disappears from the face of the earth in the coming episodes — something which leaves Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) and Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) incredibly worried — and the latter believes the young woman has fled!

Viewers saw Sonia do her best to reassure Whitney earlier this week, as she encouraged her to get back to some degree of normality.

However, Whitney soon discovered that Michaela (Fiona Allen) had posted online about her and, once she saw the post, she was crushed.

Max (Jake Wood) opened up to her about the time he spent in prison, and — afterwards — Whitney decided that it’s time to take matters into her own hands, and her plan became apparent when she clutched her passport.

However, she soon decided against going on the run, and disposed of her farewell letters, but Michaela soon appeared with a knife to her throat.

In the coming episodes, Whitney is nowhere to be found, and Gray begins to panic. Meanwhile, Sonia finds one of her letters and assumes she’s fled.

Things are made worse when Gray’s boss Laura arrives for a meeting with Whitney and they’re forced to cover.

The question is: will they discover the truth about Whitney’s whereabouts?

Where has she gone?

Has Michaela had something to do with this?

One to watch: Monday 27 April at 8pm on BBC One.
