Netflix’s Ozark fans convinced they’ve solved hitman loyalty twist in season 3 finale – The Sun

OZARK fans are convinced they’ve solved one of the show’s biggest twists.

Series 3 of Netflix’s hugely popular US crime drama ended in shocking circumstances as the Navarro cartel's lawyer Helen Pierce met a grizzly death at the hands of their own hitman.

The reasons why the brief was killed off have not been explained, leaving viewers to speculate on social media.

While it appeared Helen's death was simply carried out on the orders of the cartel, Ozark fans have come up with a new theory.

On Reddit, user 00110110 suggested it could be down to the fact she had previously ordered the hired heavy, Nelson, to kill therapist Sue Shelby.

They wrote: "Anyone else think that the reason Nelson didn't tell Helen that he was ordered to kill her was because she made him kill Sue?

"We've seen Nelson kill a lotta times and by nature [he’s] pretty cold to it but I don't know, for some reason when I watched that scene I just really got the feeling he didn't wanna do it and felt bad about it."

Another fan agreed, and said: "That is very true.

"They played through the emotional part about him f*****g up so well. I mean I was pulling my hair out of frustration!"

While financial advisor Marty Byrd (Jason Bateman) and his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) laundered money for the Navarro cartel, Helen (Janet McTeer) became a huge obstacle for the family towards the end of season 3.

While some viewers reckon Nelson murder Helen because of her previously demanding he kill Sue (Marylouise Burke), others offered a simpler explanation.

One fan replied: “I think he didn’t tell her simply because he doesn’t work for her. He works for Navarro.”

A second suggested: “I just think [he] didn’t have the chance to tell her or didn’t care."

Ozark is available to stream on Netflix now.
