Below Deck Mediterranean season six will be premiering in the coming weeks, bringing onboard a new cast of sailors. Mathew Shea is just one of the new crew members fans will see throughout the season. But who is Mathew Shea in season six?

Who is Mathew Shea?

Mathew Shea will be joining the crew of the Lady Michelle for season six of Below Deck Mediterranean.

Shea will be the new chef of the ship, putting his vast culinary skills to the test like never before.

The chef is no stranger to working at sea, being born and raised in the sailing hub of Rhode Island in the United States.

His passion for cooking has been with him from the start, wanting to be a chef from the young age of 12.

His mum ran a macrobiotic cooking school in the 1980s which quickly nurtured his passion for food from an early age.

The star’s first professional experience of cooking on a boat was when he went on tour with Greenpeace and was hired as an assistant.

He trained under the guidance of a classically trained French Chef, who became his mentor.

Life at sea took to Shea in no time, realising fast that living life from port to port could become a successful career for himself.

He is no stranger to stardom, having prepared meals for home high-end guests including Hugh Jackman and Rupert Murdoch.

The season six star has cooked for some of the wealthiest one percent in the world.

During season six, Shea will come face to face with some of the most demanding guests of his career.

He will be confronted with some unexpected challenges as well, as the Lady Michelle upholds her reputation for unforgettable voyages.

Shea shared a post to his Instagram account which showed him suited and booted aboard the Lady Michelle.

He captioned the post: “Catch me on #BelowDeckMed premiering June 28th on @BravoTV.”

Many of the chef’s fans replied to the story, with one commenting: “So awesome, congrats!! Can’t wait to watch.”

Season six will be premiering on NBCUniversal’s streaming platform Peacock one week ahead of its launch on Bravo TV.

The show will drop on June 21 on Peacock, with a June 28 launch on Bravo TV.

Every episode will be available to watch on Peacock one week before it runs on the cable channel.

Joining Shea are returning stars Captain Sandy Yawn and Malia While, along with plenty of new faces.

Rounding out the season six cast is Katie Flood (Chief Stew), Lexi Wilson (Deckhand), Courtney Veale (Deckhand), David Pascoe (Deckhand) and Lloyd Spencer (Deckhand).
