Martin Roberts fought back tears as he made an emotional return to Homes Under The Hammer on Tuesday (May 24) following a major health scare.
The 58-year-old underwent emergency heart surgery after experiencing chest pain and being rushed to hospital with “hours to live”.
A life-saving operation was performed to deal with "a massive amount of fluid" surrounding Martin's heart.
The presenter shared a video message on his Instagram account announcing his return to work.
"So I've got some news and it’s actually pretty amazing news," he began.
“So I am back today filming Homes Under The Hammer."
Following the announcement, the BBC star shared that it was quite an emotional day.
He revealed: "Today is a very special day, it's quite an emotional one to be honest because I've spoken to the doctors and they've said as long as I take it easy I'm ok to start work.
“I'm in the valleys of Wales, I never thought I'd be so happy."
Martin captioned his post with "It’s a very special day… so I decided I should wear a very bright shirt to celebrate."
Martin's 20,000 followers responded with delight to the news, with co-presenter Lucy Alexander commenting: "Lol I NEVER thought you'd be so happy kissing bricks. Oh how we luv [sic] a two up two down in Wales."
Another user added: "Love the shirt. Glad you are doing so well. Take Care."
A third reply read: "Brilliant news my lovely. Looking forward to seeing you and your technicoloured shirt on Homes Under the Hammer. Take care, don't over do things."
Martin previously revealed he would be changing his lifestyle as a result of his health scare.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "I like being on the go, I’ve been presenting Homes Under The Hammer for 19 years and I’m determined to make it to 20, next May.
"There are still so many things I want to achieve, but I know I have to take things slowly from now on."
