Love Island fans campaign for Liberty to win the £50k alone after she dumps 'fake' Jake

LOVE Island fans are campaigning on Twitter for Liberty Poole to win the £50,000 alone after she dumped boyfriend Jake Cornish in dramatic scenes.

The 21-year-old sobbed as she told the water engineer she didn't believe it when he said he loved her and called things off just days before the final of the ITV2 show.

The couple had been paired up since day one and were favourites to win.

But fans say Liberty carried Jake through the series and should take home the 2021 prize on her own.

One said: "Can Liberty not just win #LoveIsland on her own please?"

Another said: "Ok but all i want in life is for liberty and jake to stay for the final, win and have liberty take the money #LoveIsland"

And one more Tweeted: "Can we all please make Jake and Liberty win love island but also somehow send a message to Liberty to steal the money"

The pair agreed to go their separate ways after Liberty raised questions about their suitability for each other.

She said: "I just don't feel like, if I'm being honest, that you love me for me and I want someone who loves me for me."

She added: "Maybe I'm just not right for you."

Speaking to Faye Winter, Liberty added she does not "want to stay with anyone who doesn't like me or love me".

"If I'm not making him happy then I don't want to be in this relationship," she said.

"All I can do is be me, I can't be fake or pretend I'm happy with someone when I'm not."

Jake had earlier mocked Liberty saying she gave him "the ick" – which turned out to be the final straw for the Brummie student.

Realising her relationship was in tatters she ripped off her mic and ran outside crying as Faye chased after her.

She later told Jake: "I feel like I can't do anything, I am messy, I do wear big heels, I do wear big eyelashes, I do wear red lipstick, and I don't feel like I can do that in here.

"I just want to be with someone who loves me for me, the big heels, eyelashes, everything …"

Viewers rallied behind Liberty, after Jake later told the boys that their split was "mutual".

One said: "How was that a mutual decision, she dumped him lmao😂😂"

Another wrote: "That break up was about as mutual as the feelings in that relationship"

And one more tweeted: "Looks like jake was in it for the win. Thought he could do a ‘Jack & Danny’ with the bracelet. Liberty dumped him & he just agreed because he knew the game was over & they couldn’t win. Then he told the boys it was a mutual agreement. Rubbish! He was fake AF"

Despite breaking up, in a first look at tomorrow night's episode, the couple enjoy a romantic afternoon onboard a yacht in the Mediterranean sea.
