Home Alone – Channel 4 at 6pm

This time of the year might all be about turkey, presents and trees – but nothing says Christmas like Home Alone’s Kevin McCallister screaming in the hall.

After the McCallisters mistakenly leave for the airport without Kevin, he awakens to an empty house and assumes his wish to have no family has come true.

But his excitement sours when he realises that two con men plan to rob the McCallister residence and that he alone must protect the family home.

A star-studded cast of Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Kiera Knightley, Bill Nighy, Liam Neeson, Rowan Atkinson and the late Alan Rickman make up the film that continues to stand the test of time.
