Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer appeared to defend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during Thursday's instalment of Lorraine.
The ninth Earl Spencer chatted to television presenter Lorraine Kelly on her ITV talk show on Thursday morning about the upcoming release of the paper edition of his book The White Ship.
However, conversation quickly turned to his late sister Diana, the Princess of Wales, who would have turned 60 next month.
Speaking about Althrop House, the Spencer family estate, Lorraine said: "And of course a lot of people go there because they want to pay tribute to your sister. Of course they do.
"And we saw that with Harry and Meghan’s baby. I know there has been huha with that but at the end of the day there’s a wee baby that’s been born and you’ve got a great niece and that’s fantastic."
Charles replied: "That’s the thing Lorraine. The newspapers are going berserk again and I always find it so hard."
Prince William and Harry's uncle went on to reveal that he "separates the media personality from the real person who is a member of your family".
He continued: "I think it’s because I’m not very imaginative but I always see things in terms of family.
"I remember when I was a boy and Diana became Princess of Wales, I just sort of ploughed along on the same path and you separate the media personality from the real person who is a member of your family and that’s all that matters at the end of the day."
Harry and Meghan have recently hit the headlines after naming their baby daughter Lilibet, Queen Elizabeth's favourite nickname.
Her Majesty struggled to pronounce her own name, Elizabeth, when she was a young princess so resorted to saying 'Lillibet'.
Charles has a poignant few months ahead with his late sister's upcoming 60th birthday on July 1 and the 14th anniversary of her death on August 31.
It has recently been revealed that Charles has been chosen to host the 20201 Legacy Awards at Althrop House in honour of Diane's landmark birthday.
