Corrie fans spot replaced actor in background of production gaffe

Coronation Street fans have spotted a production gaffe in the latest episode of the soap.

And, awkwardly enough, it was a picture of the previous actor to portray Dev Alahan’s (Jimmi Harkishin) son, Aadi.

Aadi has been re-introduced in the cobbles, now played by Adam Hussain, after previously being potrayed by Zennon Ditchett.

Now, one eagle-eyed fan spotted that in a scene in Dev’s house, there was a photo of his son behind him.

The only problem? It was a picture of previous actor Zennon, not Adam.

Awkward? Well, maybe just a bit.

‘Dev’s boy has changed and he hasn’t even noticed!’ the fan wrote on Twitter. ‘A reminder of old Aadi on the wall.’

Gaffes aside, Corrie boss Iain MacLeod opened up to Metro.co.uk about the epic plans set in place for the soap’s 60th anniversary celebration.

‘What we have had to strip out for our 60th is the Hollyowood spectacular elements as we didn’t have time to build and install what we had originally planned,’ he revealed.

‘What we have discovered beneath the spectacular is a strong community story which has really resurged under lockdown. There’s a real sense of street community again now. We’ve got a huge human interest story which emerges from something on screen now which has been engaging. A classic salacious love triangle is also in there.

‘We have stripped away the crash, bang wallop but still have some unmissable storylines. If we lock down again, we will still have those episodes, it will just transmit later. But I am confident we can hit some classic Corrie episodes for the anniversary and Christmas.’
