Casey Cott’s new quarantine look is unrecognizable

There are a lot of frustrating aspects about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Not only are people still dying from the virus, but it’s near impossible to help people when they need it the most, due to social distancing regulations. So, celebs and regular folk alike are doing what they can by donating money online or holding social media fundraising campaigns, which is exactly what Riverdale star Casey Cott and his brother Corey did in April 2020.

The two brothers shaved their heads on Instagram Live in the name of raising money for Charity: Water, which provides clean drinking water to communities in need, mostly overseas. The brothers’ sister Carly Cott wrote on their campaign website that the family wanted to raise $10,000 for the organization to provide water to one community, but they far exceeded their original goal.

As of the time of writing, they have raised a little over $18,000 and counting, which is more than enough to serve two communities in need of clean water. All with just a pair of clippers and a slew of curious fans on Instagram.

The Cott brothers don't look half bad with shaved heads

Casey and Corey Cott’s sister Carly posted on their Charity: Water campaign page why the family chose this specific organization. She wrote, “The need for clean water is more prevalent today than ever before. Washing hands is the first defense against the Coronavirus. In many parts of the world, washing hands with clean water is not an option.”

The Riverdale star’s sister added, “Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.” After seeing fans had helped raise thousands of dollars above their initial $10,000 goal, Casey posted a picture of their final cuts on Instagram and captioned it, “You guys are epic. Link in bio to keep donating!”

Charity: Water is sending 100% of the money raised to build clean water projects and then sends photos and GPS coordinates to donors, so they can see the community that they helped. The organization writes that clean water “can improve health, increase access to food, grow local economies, and help kids spend more time in school,” things that are essential whether there is a global health pandemic or not.

Casey and Corey Cott are adapting to their new looks

Casey Cott and his brother both shaved their heads in order to raise money for Charity: Water, but they’re still adapting to the changes. Corey wrote on Instagram that he loved the experience for one reason only, captioning a pic, “Now I can finally play my dream role of ‘Flashback Walter White’ in ‘Breaking Bad Live! The Musical!'” Not a bad idea, to be honest. Maybe he could get Casey to play Jesse Pinkman?

Corey’s eldest son Elliott isn’t all too pleased, though. In another Instagram post, you can hear the tot tell his dad that he doesn’t “like it,” referring to his father’s cleanly shaved head. On the flip side, Casey’s fans are more into the new look. His Riverdale co-star Drew Ray Tanner commented, “Tom Hardy? Is that you?” Mark Consuelos, also of Riverdale fame, chimed in with some muscle emoji to celebrate the transformation. TV personality Brad Goreski commented on the “after” photo, “You guys look great,” summing up most of the other comments left by fellow celebs and fans alike.

Shaving your head might be an extreme act, but when it’s about bringing clean water to those in need and you look good doing it? That’s what’s called a quarantine win.
