ALEXANDER VOLKANOVSKI and Max Holloway are set for a mouthwatering trilogy fight at UFC 272.
The 33-year-old Australian defeated popular fighter Holloway in December 2019 to win the featherweight title.
Volkanovski then defeated Holloway again in their 2020 rematch, winning by split decision.
Brian Ortega stepped up and tried to knock Volkanovski off the top of the featherweight mountain but was unsuccessful.
And Holloway saw off Calvin Kattar and Yair Rodriguez to earn himself a third shot at his rival.
UFC president Dana White confirmed that the two 145-pound stars will meet on March 5 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
On the same night, on the same card, bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling will also take on interim champion Petr Yan for the second time.
Yan will be looking to rectify the first lost which saw him be disqualified for an illegal knee in the fourth round.
