Trying Not to Panic Because Stephenie Meyer Announced a New 'Twilight' Book

2020 has been an absolute dumpster fire of a year, but Stephenie Meyer just came through with one thing to look forward to this year. Finally, after a full freaking decade (plus two years), the Twilight saga continues!

Once the countdown clock on Stephenie’s website ran out, Twilight fans immediately set their own for August 4 because that’s when the author will release Midnight Sun. For all the fair-weather fans who didn’t pour over the leaked PDFs in 2008, this next installment centers around Edward Cullen’s perspective and his internal dialogue when he met Bella Swan. Translation: It’s gonna be broody AF. Here’s what the publisher had to say about it:

And according to Stephenie, this book is gonna be so much longer than the first because “Edward overthinks everything.” Guess we’ll learn more about why Edward is so obsessed with saving Bella’s soul the entire time they’re together. Or perhaps Stephenie will officially canonize the “hold on tight, spider monkey” line and 13-year-old me can finally sleep at night?

BREAKING: 15 years after the first novel in the “Twilight” saga was released, author Stephenie Meyer is bringing readers back to Forks, Washington, with her new book, “Midnight Sun.”https://t.co/8IhF1Oys5k

Whatever ends up happening, let’s just hope it’s nothing remotely close to when Stephenie once said the only new Twilight content would be “three paragraphs on my blog saying which of the characters died.” Also, can someone start crunching the numbers so we can figure out how much it’ll cost to get Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart signed on for a movie!?
