Shamir Delivers Honest and Reflective Self-Titled Album

Shamir has finally dropped off his latest full-length album, Shamir.

Clocking in at just under 30 minutes, the 11-track album is a culmination of the last six years of his life — change. Shamir has seen himself transform into a jet setting touring act with an evolving sound, and he’s done this all while facing his own mental health issues and moving his life from Las Vegas to Philadelphia. Just like the metamorphosis, he’s undergone, Shamir takes a step back from his recognized R&B dance-pop sound and instead hears a reimagination of ’90s Pop & Rock for the modern world, as he focuses on a more post-hardcore ’90s sonic structure for inspiration.

The new delivery follows this year’s Cataclysm, Be the Yee, Here Comes the Haw from 2019, Resolution from 2018 and his debut Rachet from 2015. “I felt like it didn’t need a name, cuz it’s the record that’s most me,” Shamir said in a statement.
