KFC reopening: Full list of KFC stores to reopen – Is store near you opening?

Due to the current social distancing measures, restaurants across the UK have closed for the foreseeable future. Last month KFC was one of many restaurant chains to close, and the company even ceased its delivery services, but some stores have recently reopened for delivery only. In the coming weeks, a number of KFC restaurants are expected to resume their delivery service across the country.

Following the suit of other restaurant chains such as McDonald’s and Greggs, KFC announced it would be closing its stores on March 23.

The company said on their website it was not a decision they had “taken lightly”.

The statement read: “We’ve decided, together with our franchise partners, to begin closing our restaurants to help protect the wellbeing and safety of our teams and of our guests.

“We’re committed to doing this in the right way and are focussed on closing responsibly – to prepare our restaurant teams, help our suppliers and minimise food waste.

“All our restaurants will begin closing from the end of this evening (23rd March) until further notice.

“It’s not a decision we’ve taken lightly, but it’s in the best interests of both our incredible teams and all the fans that love our chicken.”

While fans of the fast food brand have been devastated by the absence of fried chicken in recent weeks, customers may not have long to wait before they can place an order once again.

When will other KFC stores reopen for delivery?

Currently, the only KFC stores open for delivery are listed above.

However, KFC has pledged to reopen 100 of their stores by May 4.

KFC updated their website on April 29, stating: “Update from The Colonel… by Monday, May 4 we’ll have reopened 100 of our restaurants in the UK for delivery.

“We’re reopening our restaurants in a responsible way, with stringent processes and hygiene measures in place.

“We’ll be serving a limited menu to help the smaller kitchen teams maintain social distancing.

“Opening these restaurants will mean that we can continue donating food to NHS and key workers – we’ll be delivering 10,000 meals a week from these restaurants in partnership with Deliveroo.”

At the moment it is not clear exactly which KFC stores will have reopened by May 4.

But if your local KFC does not make the cut by this date, the company is planning to reopen many more stores over the coming weeks.
