DEAR DEIDRE: IT feels like my boyfriend’s best mate and gaming always come first for him.
He’s been amazing helping me with my depression but lately it seems like he has run out of patience.

As well as me, he’s been there for his best friend, who has lost his job and girlfriend.
This friend calls him all the time and they spend hours playing video games online together. I’m beginning to wonder if he is addicted to these games.
Sometimes they stay up playing until 3am and he is wiped out the next day.
I’m getting fed up with it. I’m 27, while my boyfriend is 29.
DEIDRE SAYS: Part of being a good friend is being supportive but your boyfriend does need to put some boundaries in place. He can’t be at his friend’s beck and call.
These games are designed to be addictive, so tell your boyfriend he has to cut down on the gaming if he truly wants your relationship to work.
Talk to your GP about your depression. Your boyfriend can only do so much to help you.
It will have been tough for him supporting both you and his friend. My support pack Help For Your Depression will be of use.
