Bargain hunters are always on the search for free items, especially at the grocery store. On select Saturdays, Safeway offers a free full-sized product (usually a store brand) via its Saturday Sampler program. In the past, the program has given away lip balm, tortilla chips, 12-packs of beverages and more. When the offer is available, the digital coupon is available in each shopper’s loyalty account, Safeway for U. The coupon is only available for download on the respective Saturday and typically expires the following Monday. Because of the program’s popularity, it’s wise to shop early to ensure you can snag the free item.

Jimmy John’s BOGO Deal

Jimmy John’s may be known for its fast delivery, but it’s not known for offering many specials or discounts. That’s why you may want to take a bite of this offer. Through Feb. 14, buy one regular or giant sandwich and get 50 percent off a second, with promo code SAVEON2. (Little Johns are excluded.) The offer is available only online via the chain’s website or app. If you really love Jimmy John’s, join its Freaky Fast Rewards for perks and exclusive offers. Lakewood Arts Gallery sale

Calling all artists! The Lakewood Arts Gallery is holding its new and gently used art supplies sale from Jan. 30 to Feb. 25. Find everything from painting supplies, kids’ crafts, art books to fabric and jewelry-making supplies. For a minimal donation, artists on a budget can pick up new or used supplies and get their creative juices flowing. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.

Loveland remailing program

There’s no better place than Loveland from which to send your Valentine’s Day cards and love letters. The Sweetheart City is accepting cards and letters for its 76th annual Valentine remailing program. Send your stamped cards in a larger envelope to: Postmaster: Attention Valentines, 446 E. 29th St., Loveland, CO 80538-9998. You must have proper postage on all of your cards and letters, as well as the larger outer envelope. The deadline for mainland U.S. destinations is Feb. 7. For those recipients within Colorado, it’s Feb. 9. The international deadline is Feb. 2.

National Frozen Yogurt Day

Chill out on National Frozen Yogurt Day, Feb. 6, by spooning free froyo around town. Three of the most popular frozen yogurt shops are all offering a sweet deal for the special day: buy-one-get-one free cups of frozen yogurt with toppings. Get the sweet savings at Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt a few days early on Feb. 3. Then, on National Frozen Yogurt Day, TCBY and Yogurtland are swirling the same BOGO deal. The offer is available all day at each shop’s participating locations. (TCBY has only one location in the Denver metro area, in Thornton.) Limit one offer per person, while supplies last.;;

Valentine’s Bazaar

Cupids are always on the lookout for the perfect gift for their sweethearts. The Valentine’s Bazaar is a vibrant indoor pop-up market at Belmar Plaza (439 S. Upham St.) in Lakewood. Shop local for a loved one (or treat yourself) with more than 50 curated vendors offering a wide range of gifts. On Feb. 12 and 13 from noon to 6 p.m., vendors will be selling handmade jewelry, chocolate, candles, unique art, trendy fashions, flowers and more. If you really want to have fun, organizers are offering a Shop & Sip Drink Experience with Bottomless Mimosas from noon to 2 p.m. For $15, a ticket includes the two hours of mimosas, a shopping tote bag and Denver BAZAAR commemorative cup. Plenty of free parking is available at Belmar.

Natural Grocers free chocolate bar

You can’t celebrate Valentine’s Day without enjoying chocolate, and Natural Grocers is celebrating the day with a big, sweet giveaway. Members of the grocery store’s loyalty program, {N}power, can stop by on Feb. 14 and pick up a free Chocolove Bar. Flavors include raspberry, salted caramel, almonds & sea salt and more. (The offer excludes organic and no-sugar-added bars.) Bars regularly sell for $2.99 each, so the savings are definitely sweet. A free reusable bag, filled with samples of the chain’s best-selling beauty items, is also yours if you’re one of the first 50 customers to visit your store’s body care department on Feb. 16.

Free drink at Wendy’s

Start the morning off right at Wendy’s. Through Feb. 20, get a free drink of your choice with the purchase of any breakfast sandwich. The offer includes all beverages on the menu and in any size. From Frosty-ccinos to Dave’s Craft lemonades to soft drinks — it’s all free. (However, the giveaway excludes Frostys and any bottled or prepacked beverage.) The offer is available in-restaurant or via the Wendy’s app, but it’s only available during breakfast hours, typically from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. at most locations.

Young People’s concerts

Designed as a first-time concert experience, the Aurora Orchestra Young People’s Concerts are fully bilingual English/Spanish events. There is a performance in Brighton on Feb. 26 at The Armory Performing Arts Center (300 Strong St.) at 3 p.m. and two performances on Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Stanley Marketplace (2501 Dallas St.) in Aurora. This year’s theme is “Shall We Dance” and features classical dance music by composers such as Copland, Dvorak and Khachaturian. The special afternoon for kids and their families includes 45 minutes of music, as well as stories, an instrument “petting zoo” and balloon animals. While admission is free, attendees are encouraged to RSVP online.

Gem & mineral show

A dazzling Gem & Mineral Show is coming Feb. 25-27 to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds (15200 W. 6th Ave.) in Golden, under the auspices of the Denver Gem & Mineral Guild. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Attendees will find displays of minerals from around the world, ancient fossils, meteorites, rocks that glow in the dark and handcrafted jewelry. Plus, watch skilled lapidary artists cut gems and create beautiful polished stones. Talk with area rock hounds to learn about local field trips and collecting opportunities. Kids can start their own rock collection with $1 grab bags filled with 10 minerals. Admission and parking are free.

Arvada Winterfest

After two years of cancellations, Arvada’s Winterfest is back. The outdoor, multi-cultural celebration will be at McIlvoy Park (5750 Upham St.) on Feb. 26 and highlights the variety of cultures in the community. The fun includes cultural performances, a pet parade, live ice sculpting, carriage rides, an ugly sweater contest and more. Plus, food trucks, vendors and a beer garden will be on-site. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All-you-can-eat pancakes

Pancake lovers will flip for this deal at IHOP. For a limited time, the restaurant’s popular all-you-can-eat pancakes are back on the menu. Customers can enjoy endless buttermilk pancakes for just $5.99 when they dine-in. Start with a stack of five buttermilk pancake, then get stacks of two pancakes at a time until your craving is satisfied. The best part is that the restaurant serves breakfast all day, so diners can get their fill from morning to night. The offer is also available with select breakfast combos, but is not valid on National Pancake Day, March 1.
