Ajax keeper Andre Onana 'in car crash' on way to Cameroon camp for World Cup playoff clash against Algeria

CAMEROON goalkeeper Andre Onana has reportedly survived what looked to be a horror car crash on his way to international duty.

The 25-year-old Ajax star was reporting for work with the Indomitable Lions when the terrifying incident occurred.

He was allegedly travelling from the capital city Yaounde to his country’s training camp in Douala when the accident happened this morning.

Fortunately, reports claim that the stopper escaped from the crash unhurt.

And there were no other casualties except for the vehicles in the collision.

That means that Onana will still be available for Cameroon’s crunch World Cup playoff clash with Algeria.

Onana recently announced that he will not sign a new contract with Ajax.

The stopper arrived at the club in 2016 and has won two Eredivisie titles.

However, he has decided that it is time for a new challenge once his contract expires in June.

When speaking to Dutch broadcaster NOS, the Arsenal transfer target said: "I have done my best for this club, so I think it was important for me to look for a new challenge.

He remains Ajax's first choice goalkeeper until June whilst Maarten Stekelenburg is unavailable for the rest of the season due to injury.
