The TOWIE star went on to explain that the fall out between them back in 2017 is one of the major reasons she didn't think it was a good idea to date Diags, also 29, in the beginning.

She continued: "I would love a friendship with him. That's why I didn't want to get in a relationship with him in the first place because I didn't want to lose our friendship.

"It breaks my heart because he was my best mate."

Fran, who recently detailed her painful PCOS battle and admitted there are time she "can't get out of bed", went on: "I want my mate back. I did love him as a friend, I don't even care about the relationship anymore, I'm past it, we're grown ups. We were younger when we were with each other.

"We were 21 I think we was, it was like nine years ago. We've got to grow up now, we're adults. I just don't understand it."

The brunette beauty previously spoke to OK! about why they had split several years ago, explaining that their relationship was tested when Diags decided to go to Ibiza with his friends after telling his then-girlfriend they couldn't go together.

She said: "We’d booked Ibiza and we’d just moved into a new flat and he was like, 'Look, we can’t fully enjoy ourselves, we’re gonna have to go next year,' and I said, ‘Fine, I totally understand that’ and then he just come in like, 'Right, I’m going to Ibiza with the boys this weekend'."

Fran, who felt like it was "unfair" he went away while she stayed at home, continued: "I said, 'It’s not about you going out with your mates. You don’t take me out. I’m just sitting indoors all the time and it’s not fair'. But he just couldn’t see that.

"So he went to Ibiza and I didn’t hear from him at all. I got drunk one night, and wrote something on Twitter and then I got a text saying I was embarrassing, and then he came home and acted like nothing was wrong.

"So I was like, 'I’m going to go to Marbella with Georgia [Harrison]' and he didn’t like that. But I was just like, 'You know what, I’m doing it. I’ve got to be strong and I’m gonna do this'."

After clearing her head in Marbella with her girl friends, Fran decided she was willing to work at their relationship, explaining: "I thought, 'Three and a half years is a long time, I want to work at this, I love this kid and I don’t want to break up with him'."

The pair then had it out once they’d both returned home, but the Essex babe didn’t receive the reaction she was hoping for.

"He just said, 'Yeah, we’re not working,' and I was like, ‘What?' and he was like, 'We don’t work anymore' and that was it. I had to pack my stuff and go."
