This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford shared a blast from the past on social media this week.
The TV star, who turned 60 last month, posted a photograph on picture-sharing site Instagram from 27 years ago and opened up about her relationship with best friend Sam Balshaw.
On seeing the old photo, Ruth’s husband of ten years Eamonn Holmes, also 60, couldn’t resist making a cheeky comment.
In the picture, Ruth can be seen standing on a pier by the sea in Dartmouth, Devon, back in 1993.
The casually-dressed Loose Women panelist smiled for the camera in a beige top and jeans, and protected her eyes from the sunshine with a pair of dark sunglasses.
A large bag, in the same colour as her top, sat on the floor nearby.
“Look at you Lanky Langsford!” remarked Eamonn in the comments section.
In her caption, Ruth provided her 811,000 followers with a bit more information about the throwback photograph, which featured Ruth’s friend Sam, who recently joined Instagram.
She told her fans the pair had only ever had one argument in their 35 years of friendship and it was on the day this picture was taken.
The mum-of-one wrote: “Thank you all so much for following and welcoming my bezzie @balshaw.sam to Insta…she’s thrilled.”
“Some of you are asking if we’ve ever fallen out during our 35yr friendship? Well yes, only once and this was the moment!”(sic)
She continued: “1993 on a day out together in Dartmouth….she said she didn’t like my handbag and I didn’t find it funny!
“The bag in question is on the ground next to me…a very stylish, I thought, beige summer tote from @marksandspencer Anyway, we didn’t speak for an hour!”
Revealing the pair made-up shortly after the incident, she continued: “We eventually made up over ice cream….swipe left to see. Our first and last argument…not bad in 35yrs eh?”(sic)

Clearly amused by the post, Sam appeared in the comments section to give her side of the story.
The businesswoman humorously replied: “Ruth – seriously are you going to re visit that handbag moment?”
“I am just saying now – it wasn’t your best choice – I didn’t like the pattern in the beige vinyl ok.
“Please don’t do this but I was right … it’s frankly too painful that hour ok – just saying.”
Instagram users and fans were delighted to get an insight into their friendship.
One user wrote: “How lovely lifelong friends so rare now Cherish your friendship it’s real.”(sic)
Another added: “That’s so sweet u are lucky to have such a good friend for that long, wow 35 years.”(sic)
