‘RHOC’ alum Kara Keough brings home ashes of newborn son

“Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Kara Keough Bosworth brought home the ashes of her late newborn son on Monday.

“Welcome home, baby boy,” the 32-year-old captioned a photo posted to Instagram on the same day. In the picture, a bouquet of flowers surrounds a box that contains the ashes of her son, McCoy. The box features an ornament of a mother and father holding a baby.

Last week, Kara revealed on Instagram that her son died on April 6, just after his birth due to difficulties during the labor.

Former “RHOC” star Vicki Gunvalson — who starred in the Bravo series with Kara’s mom, Jeana Keough — commented, “Oh Kara, this breaks my heart. Been thinking about you and so proud of your strength. Peace be with you and Kyle.”

Our last family trip as a trio ? it was spent laughing with friends, wandering around holding hands, and snuggling each other with “family hugs” in bed after sleeping in (but before Banana Walnut Pancakes). Decker is so excited that our little family is growing next month, but I sure am having a hard time imagining this sweet time with just her approaching its retirement. Everyone tells me my heart won’t give up any of the space currently held by Kyle & Decker, that it will just grow beyond its current volume to allow for the love of one more… and I know it’s going to prove true. But damn does my heart and soul (and belly) feel full all the way up to the very brim right now. How lucky am I? I can’t wait to meet the next love of my life. See you soon, Baby M.

The 11-pound baby boy experienced a “compressed umbilical cord” and “shoulder dystocia,” which the March of Dimes defines as a birth injury that occurs when one or both of a baby’s shoulders get stuck inside the mother’s pelvis.

“May it be said that McCoy Casey Bosworth left this world in a better place, for a better place…. that he made an impact… that he was an answered prayer… that he was a hero,” she wrote. “May angels lead him in.”

Kara and her husband, Kyle Bosworth, 33, have been married for four years. They share a 4-year-old daughter, Decker.
