Queen and Adam Lambert have released a slightly altered version of the band’s widely beloved, award-winning 1977 song “We Are the Champions.”
In a video that was uploaded to Instagram, Lambert is sandwiched between guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor, and the word “we” is changed to “you.”
“This version is for those of you who like things to be the right way up!” May wrote alongside the clip.
May has remained active on social media throughout the past several weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, even teaching his followers how to play the guitar riff from “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
He also regularly encourages his fans to self-isolate and make sure not to believe in false news about the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Lambert is set to appear on the GLAAD livestream, dubbed “Together in Pride: You Are Not Alone” that will be aired live on Sunday, April 26, on YouTube and Facebook.
The event will feature guest appearances from allies and members of the LGBTQ+ community, including Billy Eichner, Kathy Griffin, Lilly Singh, and Bebe Rexha. Kesha and Melissa Etheridge will also be performing.
