Love Islands Liberty Poole says Dancing on Ice training is harder than you think

Love Island star Liberty Poole has confessed Dancing on Ice rehearsals are "harder than people think".

The blonde beauty, 21, was confirmed as part of the lineup for the 2022 skating show, where she will compete against a number of celebrities for the Dancing on Ice crown.

Speaking on the red carpet of the the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, Liberty told OK!: "I have been busy but I'm focussing on Dancing on Ice training, doing that Monday to Friday. Trying to get good, it's harder than people think!"

Liberty also revealed both she and her mum are fans of the ITV skating show, but her previous ice skating experience hasn't helped her with rehearsals.

She said: "I'm enjoying it, me and my mum have been watching the show for years and I've always loved ice skating but, yeah, you have to sort of forget what you know and sort of start over again when it comes to figure skating so yeah, but I'm hoping it goes alright."

The blonde beauty isn't the first Love Island star to take part in the show, as Wes Nelson and Maura Higgins have both taken to the Dancing on Ice rink.

In 2019, 23 year old Wes won the show after being paired with Vanessa Bauer.

And, in 2020 Maura, 30, also went far in the competition as she was eliminated in the seventh week of the series.

Liberty is certainly feeling the pressure as, when discussing the previous Love Island contestants who appeared on the show, she confessed: "They've all done pretty well, obviously I'm hoping to do well on the show as well.

"Obviously, I love the glitz and the glam and I love skating in general, so hopefully, I'll do well – fingers crossed.

"But, I am as stiff as a wooden stick so I'm going to need to improve on that. And, the dance moves I'm going to need to improve on that."

Liberty is competing on the show amongst Kimberly Wyatt, Brendan Cole, Rachel Stevens, Ben Foden and Sally Dynevor.
