California-based singer Kehlani typically lives their best life as a brunette. Though their hair color has stayed true to the natural shade — minus a period where they had honey blonde highlights — they rarely hesitate to switch up the styling. (Some examples: their naturally curly bob, a slicked-back ponytail). But looks like 2021 is the year she's decided to embrace dyed hair, starting with their new two-toned, black-and-white style that would even make Cruella De Vil stop in her tracks.
The singer-dancer shared two different looks showcasing the new hair color, which hairstylist Preston Wada created. In the first photo, Kehlani embraces more of their masc side with two straight-back cornrows. Unlike everyone's favorite evil fashion icon Cruella De Vil, their hair is not completely white on one side and black on the other. The left side of her head is a platinum blonde shade mainly towards the front — you can see a sliver of black hair near the crown of her head. The right side is a jet black hue with a chunky white stripe near the ear, similar to a skunk's fur.

In the second photo, they switch up the hairstyle completely with expertly sculpted finger waves. The blonde and black pieces of hair blend together beautifully in the loopy style. Unlike the makeup in the first photo where they have a smoky eye, they wear a light pink pigment on the cheeks and eyes to add a wash of color.
To no surprise, Kehlani looks as fine as ever in both their cornrows and finger waves and truly shows off their versatility. We're thrilled to see the mother of one dip into the hair color category and hope they'll start experimenting with other colors soon. We'll be here not-so-quietly staining regardless.
