It’s official – Jordan Fisher will be back on Broadway later this year!
The 27-year-old entertainer made the announcement on Good Morning America on Tuesday morning (June 1) in New York City.
Jordan appeared on the morning show with the cast of Dear Evan Hansen, where he announced he will reopen the show when it returns to the Great White Way in December. They also performed “You Will Be Found.”
“I am thrilled to announce officially that I’m reopening the show with this amazing cast here on Broadway on December 11th, which will be really great,” Jordan shared.
“[I’m] thrilled honestly. You know, it’s funny. I haven’t been back to the city since everything shut down last March. It’s the longest I’ve ever been away from the city and to walk into the hotel today and see everybody’s shining faces at a very, you know, good hour of the morning was wonderful,” he added. “We’re just thrilled to be back together and excited to make magic again.”
Dear Evan Hansen will resume performances on Broadway on December 11th, and the National Broadway Tour will also resume.
If you forgot, Jordan was in the middle of a 16-week engagement in Dear Evan Hansen when the pandemic hit. He began performing in the show at the end of January and was set to perform until May 2020.
During his time away from the stage, Jordan set up multiple movies, including one where he will star alongside Dove Cameron. He got married to his longtime love Ellie, and he even filmed a guest starring role on The Flash!
