Jeremy Clarkson, 60, has revealed he was left feeling concerned when a BBC weather report forecasted “extreme heat”, alongside a frightening red graphic across the map, last Wednesday. The former Top Gear presenter admitted he had to put his phone down to “get a handle on what disaster-movie terrors were coming our way” due to the caption and an image of a “blood red cloud over the whole of Europe”.
However, he then realised the weather wouldn’t be as “extreme” as suggested by the broadcaster, but that it would be unseasonably warm for February.
Speaking out on his initial worries, The Grand Tour host said: “The BBC’s early evening weather bulletin on Wednesday showed a menacing, blood red cloud over the whole of Europe. Along with a caption saying, ‘Extreme Heat’.
“Naturally, I was alarmed by this and put down my phone for a moment so I could get a handle on what disaster-movie terrors were coming our way.
“It turned out that, over the next few days, we could expect to see clear skies and temperatures of around 12 degrees. Which didn’t sound very ‘extreme’ to me.

“I’d call it: ‘Lovely weather for the time of year’.”
The former BBC presenter then jibed: “But I guess that wouldn’t sit well in the BBC plan to mention climate change in every single show.
“They haven’t managed it on Antiques Roadshow yet, but it’s only a matter of time,” Jeremy quipped in his latest column for The Sun.
Temperatures reached up to 15C in parts of the UK over Saturday and Sunday.
Forecasters said the warm conditions signalled the first signs of spring approaching.
The car enthusiast seemed to be enjoying the warm weather over the weekend as he shared a photo of himself relaxing at his Diddly Squat Farm estate, located near Chadlington in west Oxfordshire.
Jeremy looked very different from his recent TV appearances on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? as he showed off his lockdown beard and longer grey hair.
The star stunned fans with his new look, which he shared in view of his 3.2 million Instagram followers yesterday.
