Noel Fitzpatrick, 53, has very quickly become one of Britain’s national treasures, as he does all he can to save our furry friends and give them the best life possible. And if you thought he couldn’t get any better, the Supervet admitted the fame that comes with his TV show and expertise in the medical field, doesn’t mean diddly squat to him!

I don’t give a flying f*** about fame – except that it helps get the message across

Noel rose to fame as The Bionic Vet after radio DJ Chris Evans recommended him to BBC, following meeting the animal doctor while he was treating his dog Enzo.

The 2010 series ran for one season, before Noel was picked up by Channel 4 and given a new title, one that will stick with him forever – even in daily life.

The Supervet began in 2014 and is still very much running today, 16 series later.

And while the medic’s sole focus is the animals in his care, his reputation has continued to grow and grow.

In a new interview, Noel recalled the first time he was recognised in public, and it utterly stunned him.

“I was at a concert and somebody was taking a picture on their phone,” he remembered.

“I said, ‘Mate, the band are that way.’ the guy said, ‘No, I was taking a picture of you.’ I am like, ‘What? Bizarre.’ Then all of a sudden, the penny dropped!”

But for Noel, it’s not about the cameras.

“I do the media stuff because I would like to build a platform to change the way medicine is done and show that we are not alone on the planet,” he explained.

“I don’t give a flying f*** about fame – except that it helps get the message across.”

The 53-year-old has been dubbed Britain’s Sexiest Vet, something he described as totally “mad”.

“My secretary said, ‘You’re not going to believe this, Boss!'”

And despite living alone in a surprisingly modest flat with his pets, he’s said to be worth an estimated £16 million.

“I am still walking by the same river. I am still in the same house I’ve been in for 25 years,” he laughed.

“I am still building the practice.”

Noel cheekily added to the Mail Online: “Look how much I owe the bank.

“I think I owe them several million and you have to pay the overheads and the wages every month.”

The latest series of The Supervet airs Thursdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
