Former Playboy playmate Ashley Mattingly has died aged 33.
The former model took her own life on Wednesday (April 15) while at her home in Austin Texas, according to TMZ.
The site claims Ashley – who previously struggled with substance abuse – was found unresponsive on Friday after a friend called the Austin Police Department for a wellness check because Ashley was not responding to messages.
The model had left a suicide note and the police took the note as part of their investigation.
Her family told TMZ that the model had been living in Texas for the past two years and was trying to get her life back on track after battling alcohol abuse.
She had even recently adopted a golden retriever puppy to help combat her loneliness.
Back in 2011, Ashley was named Playboy’s Miss March but her life made headlines a year later when her then-boyfriend Lane Garrison was convicted of domestic battery.
While in 2016, Ashley was charged with DUI after allegedly hitting four parked cars with her golf cart when she was intoxicated.
