Florence Welch performed her song “You’ve Got the Love” at a virtual celebration of the Met Gala, which looked back on the history and memorable moments from the prestigious annual event through the years.
The Florence + the Machine vocalist played the song alone from her home.
Welcoming her, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour said, “She performed at the Met nearly a decade ago, and she very graciously told me that it was one of the most extraordinary moments of her life.”
“I am so touched and so grateful that she has agreed to sing for us tonight,” Wintour noted.
The special event, titled “A Moment With The Met,” was livestreamed via Vogue’s YouTube channel.
Proceeds from the event will benefit A Common Thread, the COVID-19 relief fund.
The Met Gala 2020 was postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic.
