Beyoncé Drops Surprise New Single ‘Black Parade’

Beyoncé released a new song in support of Black-owned businesses to mark Juneteenth.

“Happy Juneteenth Weekend! I hope we continue to share joy and celebrate each other, even in the midst of struggle. Please continue to remember our beauty, strength and power,” the superstar said on Instagram on Friday, releasing “Black Parade.”

“‘Black Parade’ celebrates you, your voice and your joy and will benefit Black-owned small businesses,” she added.

“Being Black is your activism. Black excellence is a form of protest. Black joy is your right,” reads a message the singer-songwriter wrote on her website.

Juneteenth is observed as the official end of slavery in the United States.

“Black Parade” was co-written by Beyoncé, her husband Jay-Z, Akil “Fresh” King, Brittany Coney, Densia Andrews, Kim “Kadence” Krysiuk, Rickie “Caso” Tice, and Derek Dixie.

Beyoncé and Dixie produced the record.
