A WOMAN who got engaged at 16 has revealed why she decided to make the life-changing decision at such a young age.
US real estate investor and entrepreneur Ava Yuergens, decided to say yes when her boyfriend of one year, Ben Otto, popped the question.
The now 17-year-old took to TikTok to discuss why she wanted to get married at such a young age after previously being too afraid to speak out on it reports News AU.
In the video, Ava revealed five reasons why she has decided to tie the knot, which divided opinions in the comments.
Ava said: "I got engaged when I was 16-years-old, people either love it or they hate it."
Listing her reasons, Ava first said she was going to marry her best friend.

“Ben is not only my best friend and my lover, he is also my business partner. I am very entrepreneurial minded and so is he and I have never met someone so similar," she added.
“In high school we were already making tens of thousands of dollars together and buying real estate together.”
The third reason she decided to wed Ben was because he isn't afraid to call her out on her bulls***.
"I actually really respect that," Ava added.

Reason four, is because she finds Ben 'very, very, very attractive.'
And Ava saved the best reason for last – he makes her very happy.
In other videos, the Wisconsin teen revealed she is a firm advocate for “doing things young,” and is driven by her business’ success and desire to add to her existing ventures.
“Age is just a number and you can literally do anything with your life,” Miss Yuergens said, while also revealing she would not be attending college to dedicate to her time to her two businesses.
While the couple and their families are excited about the upcoming wedding – some people in the comments warned against it.
One wrote: "I feel like constantly being involved with EVERYthing you're doing in life with your lover could be tiring and can cause a lot of problems."
Another commented: "Make sure you save up for the divorce attorney."
A third penned: "I believe in you girl!! Just don’t forget, these teenage years you will never get back, so live up your life while you can!!!"
