BEFORE kickstarting to a new diet and exercise plan, the first thing always have to swear off is McDonald's – because we've proved time and time again that we have no self-control when it comes to a McChicken sandwich.
But while we always assumed that indulging in fast food is the worst thing you can do on a diet, this personal trainer claims he's tucking into a McDonald's everyday for two weeks – and STILL managing to lose weight.
Documenting his weight loss plan on TikTok, fitness instructor Oisin Mulligan explained how he still shed pounds while eating the food he enjoys.
In the first video in the series, the trainer – who specialises in weight loss – said: "I'm doing this to remove fear surrounding food.
"No food will inherently make you gain weight – even if that food is a Big Mac from McDonald's."
At the start of the experiment, Oisin weighed 82.1kg [12 stone 9lbs] – and 11 days in, he's lost 1.7kg.
Explaining how he planned to lose weight, Oisin added: "I'm doing it by staying in a calorie deficit.
"Essentially, our body burns so many calories per day or utilises so much energy every day and if you just eat a little bit less than that, no matter what you eat, within that you will lose weight."
Everyday Oisin has filmed himself ordering something different from the McDonald's menu – but has made sure to squeeze in 10,000 steps too.
He claimed: "If this doesn't show that calories are the deciding factor in weight loss then nothing will.

"All diets work by creating a calorie deficit – but most do it by restricting full food groups, such as carbs. And I'll say it again, restriction leads to failure!"
Although he doesn't advise his clients eat junk food everyday, Oisin wanted to challenge the notion that McDonald's is "bad".
He continued: "People feel afraid of certain foods or feel like they can't consume the foods they enjoy and lose weight at the same time.
If someone calls your food bad or says McDonalds is inherently bad or your chocolate bar is bad, when you consume that food, it makes you feel bad."
Needless to say, Oisin's videos have been a hit with his 12,900 followers.
"Love this message," one replied. "Got to remove food fear! Great videos."
Another added: "Loving this journey!"
Meanwhile, a third wrote: "I really need your videos at the moment.
"I've put on weight from treatment for a tumour and I'm punishing myself for eating."
When quizzed about his vitamin intake, Oisin replied: "There are plenty of other foods involved – I wouldn't recommend any one else eat it everyday."
